NETA Acceptance Testing
Every switchboard we build is tested to NETA ATS standards before it leaves our facility. You receive a complete, certified test report with your shipment — no third-party testing needed on site.
What Is NETA Testing?
NETA (InterNational Electrical Testing Association) publishes the Acceptance Testing Specifications (ATS) — the industry standard for verifying that new electrical equipment is properly manufactured, installed, and ready for energization.
NETA acceptance testing catches manufacturing defects, loose connections, insulation failures, and calibration errors before the equipment goes live. It is the single most important quality assurance step in the delivery of any switchboard.
Many specifications and jurisdictions now require NETA acceptance tested switchboards as a condition of project acceptance. By performing it in our shop, we eliminate the need for expensive field testing and reduce the risk of energization delays.
What Tests Are Performed?
- Insulation Resistance: Megohmmeter testing of all bus and connections to verify dielectric integrity
- Contact Resistance: Micro-ohmmeter testing of bolted bus joints and breaker contacts to verify proper torque and connection quality
- Breaker Testing: Mechanical operation, trip unit calibration, and timing tests for every circuit breaker
- Protective Relay Testing: Functional testing and calibration of ground fault relays, overcurrent relays, and metering equipment
- Visual & Mechanical Inspection: Complete inspection of all bus, wiring, labeling, clearances, and mechanical operation per NETA ATS checklists
What You Receive
Every NETA acceptance tested switchboard ships with a bound test report that includes:
- ✓Detailed test results for every test performed, with pass/fail criteria referenced to NETA ATS
- ✓Breaker trip curves and timing data for every circuit breaker
- ✓Insulation resistance and contact resistance readings for all bus sections
- ✓Photographs of the completed assembly
- ✓Certification statement signed by a NETA-certified technician
This documentation is part of every engineered switchboard package we deliver. Combined with submittal drawings and one-line diagrams, your AHJ and commissioning team have everything they need for approval and energization.
